Dunn Building Exhibit

On Saturday, November 4, 2006 artists and artisans from the ArtBerkeley association held a reception to celebrate the opening of an six-week-long exhibit at the Dunn Building at 400 West Stephen St. in Martinsburg.

A visitor to the Dunn Building looks at some of the artwork that will be ond display through December 16

Contemporary folk music was performed by David LaFleur, and Terry Tucker will bring blues and folk favorites with the accompaniment of Ardyth Gilbertson.

With the cooperation of the Berkeley County Commission, the group displayed more than 50 art pieces by more than 15 artists and artisans including paintings, photographs and jewelry, along with the work of artisans in various media. The exhibit will be available through December 16.

Anyone who has business with the County Government must walk by some of our ArtBerkeley artists' work.

ArtBerkeley member Hilda Eiber, besides exhibiting her artwork, applied a second talent to the refreshment table for the day. Other members are contributed art for a raffle and silent auction to benefit the newly formed ArtBerkeley organization.

Three photographers were represented in the exhibit.

The exhibit is the first showing the work of several artists. ArtBerkeley's goal is to enhance the arts community and at the same time help revitalize the downtown Martinsburg area through the arts.

Denny Clarke demonstrates his watercolor painting technique to several visitors outside the County Commission Offices.

Artists and artisans whose work is on exhibit include Paul Hutchings, Hilda Eiber, Arrilia Kief, Daniele Piasecki, David Selvin, Leia Wood, Rip Smith, Kat Cimaglio, Rick Lowman, Denny Clarke, Marjorie Peterson, Dodee Geibas, James Shumate, and Annie Wisecarver.
